I have been coming to Island Cottage for 2 years. Although I live by the sea in Cornwall I find Mersea Island peaceful a bit like stepping back in time. Everything I need within is walking distance and the cottage is kept beautifully clean by the local caretaker. Jackie
We have been to Island cottage twice now, it is very quiet and peaceful for a restful week away. The cottage is very cosy and well kept, a nice home from home. The garden is lovely and just across the road from the pebbly beach, where you can hear the birds calling and see the foxes in the evening.
